Windows 8 Release Preview – Whats The Thoughts?

You have to admit its definitely looking, ermmm…. DIFFERENT!

Although oddly enough its appealing!! Something very familiar with it (Xbox Live Anyone??/ Windows Phone Anyone??).  Is this Microsofts attempt at a user friendly operating system or is it their attempt to lock everyone into using all Microsoft devices (phones/consoles), only time will tell…….

As developers and ‘day 1 computer users’ (geeks!) , the whole layout looks very BASIC and simplified for us, however who knows what little gems are hiding around the corner… With a Installation in the pipelines over the next week or so…..

You can get the Windows 8 Release Preview from Microsoft’s site, or CNET Download.com.

Windows 7 to 8 Upgrade Path

Accompanying today’s debut of the Windows 8 Release Preview, Microsoft has announced a steeply discounted Windows 8 upgrade path for people who buy Windows 7 computers between June 2012 and January 2013.

If you buy an eligible Windows 7 computer between June 2, 2012, and January 31, 2013, you’ll be able to purchase an upgrade to Windows 8 Pro for $14.99. Microsoft said that more details on the upgrade plan would be announced tomorrow, and that further upgrade options will be revealed for current Windows 7 computer owners in the coming months.

The company also said that it will make a push for Windows 8 for businesses at the TechEd North America conference, which starts June 11.
